A Year in Review: Best of Travel 2017

We are just days away from another new year, and I can't help but feel a bit sentimental and simultaneously proud as this year comes to an end. 2017 was a year of learning, growing, and seeing, and to travel as much as possible is always my goal with the coming of each new year. When I tallied it up, my travels took me to a total of 11 cities this year and 4 countries - 3 of those countries being completely new to me.

Along with body image negativity—which also covers eating disorder awareness—this exhibition addresses many major global human struggles: war, institutionalized racism, addiction, inequality, LGBTQ rights, sexism and climate change. Christy Havranek stated, “The images featured in this exhibition are testament to the seemingly fractured place the world is in. It is our responsibility to respond by reclaiming what has oppressed us, affected us, abused us — and foster change from that shift of power.” I truly hope that’s what we can do.
